Tilda's Kitchen

This is my Sunday post for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge. The challenge this week is to make a card showing distressing. The sponsor this week is The Soap Dish, and there is a picture of the absolutely yummy handmade soap that goes to the winner of this challenge. Can't win it if you're not in it, so go on over and visit the Magnolia Down Under Challenge and have a look at this beautiful soap and the gorgeous cards our Design Team has put together for your inspiration. http://www.kelliewinnell.com.au/magnolia/

My Design Team entry is a look into Tilda's kitchen. I made a house-shaped card and cut out pieces of card stock to shingle the roof. The stove and cupboard were new arrivals for me last week from Magnolia, so I couldn't wait to ink them up. Tilda is baking cupcakes and has filled the cupboard with them. I used small white brads on the cupboard drawers for knobs. I used Ranger distress inks on just about everything in various colors. I cut a piece of acetate for the cupboard to look like a glass door. Designer paper used for floor and walls. Wall hangings are stickers. Oops, looks like Tilda has a visitor in her kitchen, do you see him peeking out from behind the cupboard? Cupboard and stove are popped out. Top cupboard and jelly jars are not, so they appear to be sitting on the lower cupboard. This was a fun card to put together. Thanks for stopping by, now go bake a batch of cupcakes, you know you want to!!! Until tomorrow............

Sue, I am loving this beautiful shaped card. Tilda and the Kitchen is just so Yummy and the little mouse poking it's head out is the cutest, along with the birds on the roof, the heart patterned wallpaper and the sweetest signs hanging on the kitchen wall. Very creative & wonderful colouring. Such perfect inspiration for all joining the MDUC distressing challenge. Hugs Jodie

My son is always talking about "eye candy" -- this is cookies for the soul. You've left nothing out of this delightful, cozy, and warm kitchen -- it's all there right down to the little birdies atop your hand shingled roof.

Well Sue, you've knocked this one out of the park, it is fantastic!!! It is exactly what was supposed to happen with the pantry, add an acetate door, fill the cupboard, that Tilda is perfect for this!! That is a Magnolia stove?? Just went on my "NEED" list!! I adore the colours and your work with the distress inks. Look at that, Tilda had company while she baked up a storm, how adorable!! And the shape, how perfect could it get??? I just love her wallpaper too and the birds on the top and ohhh, I don't think, oh wait, there's more, the "hardware" on the stove, how wonderful!! How did you do the roof? The tiling looks perfect, did you measure it all? Okay Sue, oh wait, the colours, LOVE that green and pink, it is beautiful!! Hope you are well, dear friend!
